The Muses

EXPLORATIONS THE FEMININE DIVINE

My latest work centers on the divine feminine as it breathes through global mythology and speculative futures. Inspired by the raw power, beauty, and complexity of mythic matriarchs and cosmic queens, I combine rich, expressive painting with futuristic symbolism. These muses inspire me to create portraits that don’t just capture a likeness, but channel an ancient, living energy.

Finding My Future.

EXPLORATIONS IN META AFRO-FUTURISM, RACE, CLASS and MASS MEDIA PROPAGANDA

I am TYWHO (Anthony Tyrone Howard)—a multidisciplinary artist, storyteller, and creative consultant bridging the gap between physical canvas and digital horizons. Through the lens of Meta-Afrofuturism, I build speculative worlds, engineer immersive digital experiences, and craft narratives that challenge where history ends and the future begins.

Step into the studio. Explore the lore. Let’s build something timeless.

About Tywho

Anthony Tyrone Howard (known creatively as TYWHO) is a Philadelphia native whose artistic roots run from early comic-book illustrations and airbrush canvas art to pioneering work in the digital space. A graduate of the Tyler School of Art, Tony’s journey has bridged the gap between traditional fine arts and emerging technologies—creating interactive web campaigns for major brands, animating games, and authoring his graphic novel Hopalong Camanshii.

In-Studio: My Two-Year Residency at The Braid Mill

Since February 13, 2024, my studio at The Braid Mill in Germantown has become the heartbeat of my creative practice. Transforming this space into a sanctuary for my work has been a pivotal part of my journey, providing the physical and mental room needed to develop my “Meta-Afrofuturism” narratives and experiment with the found-object materials that define my collection. Being part of The Braid Mill community has not only offered me a dedicated environment to push the boundaries of my fine art and digital multimedia projects, but it has also deeply grounded my work within the vibrant artistic landscape of Philadelphia. It is more than just a studio; it is the laboratory where my past professional expertise in design meets my present passion for painting, serving as the launchpad for my upcoming exhibitions and the continued evolution of my artistic vision.

Art and technology are my canvas. I weave magic across animation, branding, and design to breathe life into bold narratives and build unforgettable worlds.
