The Uptown Theater, Philadelphia, during a sold-out performance of Hopalong Camanshii and the Synaptic Kush. The band, caught in the cosmic crossfire, were not destroyed. They were transformed. They ascended. They became Gods, and now reside in the cloud-piercing heights of the Divine Spire, their watchful eyes ever upon Neodelphia.

2. Ivan Psilocybin: The bass player, transformed into the God of Dreams. He weaves the fabric of Neodelphia’s collective subconscious, shaping their dreams and subtly influencing their reality. His chambers within the Spire are said to be filled with swirling mists and ethereal music.

3. Dr. Whitt: The drummer, now the God of Emotion and Flow. He controls the ebb and flow of feelings within Neodelphia, a master of emotional manipulation and rhythm. His section of the Spire pulses with vibrant colors and rhythmic vibrations.

4. Inogen: The keyboard player, ascended to become the Goddess of Technology. She is the architect of Neodelphia’s advanced technology, the weaver of its digital reality. The Spire’s data centers and control systems are under her dominion.

5. Queen Bette: The singer, now the Goddess of Emotion. She is the yin and yang of Dr. Whitt, and while their powers are nearly identical their effects are often counterposed. Her quarters in the Divine Spire are a mirror image of Dr. Whitt’s, a balance of light and shadow.

Neodelphia is a marvel of futuristic architecture and technological advancement. Flying cars zip through the skies, powered by clean energy sources. AI and robots handle all menial labor, freeing citizens to pursue leisure and…other pursuits. But this gleaming facade hides a darker truth, a control exerted from the heights of the Divine Spire.

1. Eternal Youth and Re-Creation: Disease is a relic of the past. Citizens partake of a divine substance, synthesized by the gods, granting them immunity to illness and the ability to alter their physical forms at will. Race, sex, even species, are fluid concepts in Neodelphia.

2. Utopian Facade: The Gods provide for their followers, maintaining the city’s infrastructure and ensuring its prosperity. But their benevolence comes at a price. Absolute loyalty is demanded, and dissent is met with swift and brutal divine retribution, often delivered from the Spire itself.

3. The Shadow of Corruption: The Gods, once artists and revolutionaries, have become corrupt rulers.
